This already highly successful, sell-out touring production of Robert Tressell’s classic book tells the story of a group of decorators who are joined by Owen, an artist and journeyman-prophet with a vision of a just society. Owen’s spirited attacks on the greed and dishonesty of the capitalist system attempt to rouse his fellow men, the ‘philanthropists’ (working for poverty wages to generate wealth for their masters), from their complacency. This enduring story is brought to life by two hugely talented performers using the entertaining songs of the Edwardian times.
