On Sunday, 25 October, 10th Planet Events and Autographs are bringing their unique and exciting blend of fiction, fantasy and fun to Peterborough – where YOU can meet and greet some of the UK’s best-loved actors and performers!

Immerse yourself in TV and movie heaven this autumn, as renowned events company 10th Planet gives Peterborough the chance to go behind the scenes on some of the world’s favourite fantasy and sci-fi shows. From Doctor Who to Star Wars, Bond to Blake’s 7, there will be sets and costumes on display, talks from film industry insiders spilling the beans on what really happens on-set, cosplay (including the 15th Cyber Legion of Cybermen!), and the opportunity for photography and to shop for memorabilia. Special guest stars include fifth Doctor Peter Davison, and Blake’s 7 stars Paul Darrow and Jacqueline Pearce. To celebrate the release of the new Star Wars film, Garrick Hagon (Biggs Darklighter in Star Wars: A New Hope); Stephan Calcutt (Darth Vader and Chewbacca stand-in); and Shane Rimmer (Rebel Crew Chief in Star Wars: A New Hope – and the voice of the original Scott Tracy in Thunderbirds!) will be appearing in person, to chat with fans and sign autographs.

It promises to be a fantastic day of entertainment and socialising – as Derek and Caroline, directors of 10th Planet, promise: ‘Our aim is always to offer the best at the shows and events we attend, all over the country!’ Conventions such as these have long been an extremely popular fixture with movie fans, enabling people to get up close not just with stars from screens large and small, but with costumes and props from actual productions.

Appetite for gossip and news from on-set has only increased since DVD extras begun to reveal key secrets – from special effects to plotting – and now no big-name film production schedule is complete without regular commentary from key creatives on YouTube and Twitter.
