HOT MIKADO at The Cresset, Peterborough – 26 to 31 March

Hot-Mikado1

Peterborough Operatic and Dramatic Society (PODS) are thrilled to present HOT MIKADO at The Cresset, Peterborough from Monday 26th to Saturday 31st March 2012. Nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Musical, HOT MIKADO is a rib-tickling fresh musical comedy bursting at the seams with amazing song and dance numbers.

Based on its G&S namesake, HOT MIKADO is a modern adaptation which puts an exciting twist on old favourites such as a jazzy ‘Three Little Maids’ and a gospel version of ‘For He’s Gonna Marry Yum-Yum’. Suitable for young and old alike, HOT MIKADO promises to be a real crowd pleaser!

PODS are nationally recognised for mounting musical productions of the highest standard, having won the NODA Best Musical Award in 2010 for ‘Oklahoma’. HOT MIKADO promises to be no exception and for the first time, PODS are performing their main show at The Cresset, welcoming back Director, Pat O’Connell, Choreographer, Rob Bristow and a special welcome to new Musical Director, Leslie Crowson.

We’re once again delighted to have an extremely talented cast, including PODS’ regular principal Mark Harriss as The Mikado, Alex Broadfield as Ko-Ko, Leitina Reubens as Katisha, Rob Bristow as Nanki-Poo, Philip Booty as Pooh-Bah, Holly Brown and newcomers Sharon Cutworth and Sarah Parsons as the ‘Three Little Maids’.
