Burghley at Easter

Burghley House
The House and Gardens are open from Saturday, 14 March 2015 until Sunday, 1 November 2015, daily (House closed on Fridays) from 11am until 5pm, with the last admission to either at 4.30pm (House will remain open on Good Friday). The House and Gardens will be closed Thursday, 3 until Sunday, 6 September 2015 for the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials. ■ Admission: House and The Gardens of Surprise – adults £13.50; children (3–15 years) £6.70; seniors/students £12; family (2 adults & 3 children) £38.

South Gardens
Open 14 March – 12 April
The Private South Gardens offer magnificent seasonal displays of narcissi and spring bulbs and give an injection of formality into ‘Capability’ Brown’s sweeping vistas. Open from 11am to 4pm (last admission 3.30pm). Admission included with a House and Gardens or Gardens only ticket or by donation. Join Head Gardener John Burrows for a guided tour of the South Gardens at 3pm on Tuesday, 17th, Thursday, 19th and Tuesday, 24th March. Included with a House and Gardens or Gardens only ticket. The Private South Gardens will be open in aid of the National Gardens Scheme on Saturday, 11th and Sunday, 12th April, from 11am to 4pm (last admission 3.30pm).

Beastly Boring Burghley Tour
30 March – 10 April
Beastly Boring Burghley tours are available daily, excluding Fridays and Sundays, from 30 March to 10 April. Be guided around by costumed guides and find out all the grizzly gruesome and horrible history associated with Burghley and the people who have lived here. Admission is by Beastly Boring Ticket at £8 per person (adult or child) and numbers for the tour are limited, so please book your tickets in advance. Your ticket will then give you access to the house and gardens for the rest of the day. Each child will receive a free Beastly Boring Burghley Guidebook at the end of their tour. And if you are more the outdoor type, why not try the Gruesomely Grubby Gardens tour?

Burghley Easter Egg Hunt
5 April
The popular Burghley Easter Egg Hunt will once again be taking place in the Gardens of Surprise, from 11am to 5pm (last admission 4.30pm). Follow the treasure hunt around the Gardens of Surprise and solve the riddle to claim your full-size chocolate egg from the Easter Bunny. Parents are also asked to test their Easter knowledge to try and win a family Season Card. All entries will go in to the prize draw for a giant chocolate Easter Bunny. Admittance is free of charge with a House and Gardens or Gardens only ticket and is free to Friends of Burghley and Garden of Surprise Season Card holders.

Burghley Fine Food Market
11-12 April
Come and meet around 30 local suppliers in a celebration of local produce with handmade cheeses, artisan breads, organic vegetables, luxury sweet treats and rare breed meats. Held in The Courtyard. Open 10am to 4pm. Free admission.

TVR Car Club
12 April
The TVR Car Club will be gathering in force at Burghley for their annual season opener. With a cross section of models, Club Shop and TVR related trade stands there will be plenty to see and do! Easter-themed craft workshops will be available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 30 March to 2 April, and 7-10 April. They will also be returning during the May and October half terms and the school summer holidays.
