Help to shape Peterborough’s Heritage Ambition

If you feel your part of Peterborough needs wider recognition, or that your community has more to offer, or if you are interested in local areas and the stories of those who live here, then don’t miss joining in with Peterborough’s Heritage Ambition!

Following the successful launch of the project in summer 2013, meetings have been held to bring together individuals and organisations who are passionate and committed to heritage. The aim is to support and help formulate a new and exciting approach to the city.

Many interesting and exciting ideas are already beginning to take shape, and bringing together the enthusiasm of all participants will ensure 2014 becomes a significant year in the celebration of Peterborough’s heritage.

Make sure you attend the Heritage Ambition’s ‘winter round-up’ of cumulative ideas to date. This evening event will be a chance for you to share ideas and for the groups as a whole to agree on three key areas of development:

Ideas and projects for 2014 – what they are and identifying structure and support to make them happen.

Shaping the website www.peterboroughheritage.org – a platform that celebrates successes, advertises opportunities and showcases projects.

Press presence – what our local media package looks like and how we are represented.

Councillor Graham Casey, Peterborough’s Heritage Champion, will also deliver a round-up of the heritage of Peterborough as a whole – what’s currently happening, what’s on the horizon, and the importance of the Heritage Ambition in ensuring appreciation, respect, sense of place and subsequent growth for the city.
